MIXED USE BUILDING
Intending to transform an encompassing concrete environment into a vibrant and inviting space, the design focuses on introducing abundant daylight, greenery, and open public areas to a site that currently lacks these elements. The project faced the challenge of working with an existing framework that had been halted, leaving only the basement intact. Thus, our task was to maximize the efficiency of this framework while breathing new life into the space.
The main mass of the design was strategically positioned at the rear, accommodating serviced apartments and offices. Building upon the existing basement, the structure was extended to house commercial and retail stores, complemented by stepped terraces that serve as open spaces. These terraces not only provide pedestrian access from the street but also function as outdoor areas for commercial activities.
The architectural expression of the building reflects its various functions through the exterior facade, blending with the surrounding structures rather than contrasting with them. This approach ensures an integration within the urban context while improving the site with enhanced natural elements, welcoming public spaces, and a balanced mix of residential, office, and commercial amenities.
